Video: The Palazzo Las Vegas’ 8,000-pound fire-breathing dragon

We all know Las Vegas hotels and resorts pull some pretty crazy stunts – hello, Treasure Island‘s Pirate Show, Bellagio‘s fountain and Mirage‘s exploding volcano, just to name a few. But this is the first time we’ve seen such a large scale installation to celebrate a single holiday. The 128-foot, 8,000-pound fire-breathing dragon suspended above The Palazzo‘s waterfall took more than 13 months to complete.

Guests can visit the dragon (perhaps during tomorrow’s ceremonial dragon dance ceremony), or stop by through the end of the celebrations (February 5) for themed menus and special events.
