Cycling Company Cannondale Launches Luxury Cycling Tours

Cannondale, one of the most well known names in cycling, has announced that they’re getting into the travel business. The iconic bike company is launching its new endeavor, dubbed Cannondale Tours, with six unique itineraries planned for 2012. Those tours will take active travelers to some of the best cycling destinations on the planet while still managing to spoil them with the finer things in life along the way.

In creating these six tours Cannondale has partnered with DuVine Adventures, a travel company with a rich history in active and adventurous travel. The first tour takes place in June and follows the annual Criterium du Dauphine as it winds through the spectacular French Alps. Of course there is plenty of riding on the itinerary as well, beginning with a jaunt up one of the most famous and feared climbs in all of cycling – L’Alpe D’Huez.

Other tours will follow with options to ride in the Italian Dolomites in July and follow the US Pro Cycling Challenge, which takes place in Colorado in August. In September it’s off to Spain for one of the Grand Tours, the Vuelta Espana, and in October travelers can choose between visiting Hawaii for the Ironman Championships in Kona or visiting Italy for the Giro di Toscana.Cannondale knows that most travelers enjoy a little pampering while on vacation as well, which is why all of the tours will feature top-notch accommodations, gourmet cuisine and generous samplings of local wines. Cycling aficionados will also enjoy riding like the pros on the company’s signature SuperSix bike.

For travelers who enjoy both the sport of pro cycling and riding themselves, these tours are a dream come true. Not only does each of them follow an important race in each destination country, they also allow us to ride on famous routes as well. If you’re looking for an active trip that doesn’t skimp on the luxury, Cannondale Tours gives you a great new option to consider.
