Revere Hotel Opens In Boston On The Anniversary Of Its Namesake’s Midnight Ride

revere  hotel boston common guestroomIn April 1775, Paul Revere’s midnight ride made history. Capitalizing on the famous revolutionary hero, new Boston property Revere Hotel Boston Common hopes to make a similar splash when it opens its doors today.

Aiming to “pay reverence to the city’s rich history and storied past while embracing a modern edge and reveling in the non-traditional,” the 356-room hotel will offer a nightlife concept, film and live entertainment venue and multifunctional event space.

To celebrate today’s opening, Revere is making a splash with a “Vertical Fashion Show”, where “models” from Boston Rock Gym will scale down the 24 stories of the hotel (face-first), showcasing the Revere’s irreverent uniforms. The original looks were designed in partnership with students at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

Designed by the team behind hotels like NYC’s W and St. Regis, the hotel melds dramatic and luxe in what they plan to make hallmarks of The Revere brand – “style, character and class.”

Of course, a flair for the dramatic won’t go missing – the hotel’s lobby features a piece by sculptor Richard Serra, and in-room art references theater productions of yore.

A rarity in city properties, all rooms also feature balconies. As part of the hotel’s commitment to local brands, exclusive Skoah skin care amenities are provided in the bathroom. The only Skoah “spatique” in the country is located in Boston, a few blocks away in the city’s chic South End.

The hotel will also feature “creative craft cocktails and utensil-free cuisine” (whatever the heck that means) at Emerald Lounge.

So long as nobody wakes us up in the middle of the night shouting about the British coming, the hotel sounds like a good enough place to lay our heads. And, at opening rates of just $177.50 (a nod to Revere’s 1775 ride), we’re pretty sure we can afford a weekend or two in the coming months. Want to get in free?
