Lufthansa coupon: Take 40EUR off your next flight

Lufthansa has been issuing a wave of coupon codes geared at American travelers over the last six months, perhaps as a way of driving marketshare straight to their site rather than having users go to an online travel agency. Their most recent coupon is for 40 Euros ($55.64 at time of publication) off of an international flight. The voucher can be redeemed until May 1st and travel must be be before August 1st, 2011.

All that you have to do to scour up your own unique coupon code is venture over to Lufthansa.com and enter in your info.

As to whether or not Lufthansa’s fares are competitive in your particular market is another question. Our suggestion over at Gadling Labs is to run your fare search on Kayak first and then see if LH is competitive. After that, move back to Lufthansa.com and proceed with your booking.

Another area in which this coupon might be useful is for flights on the A380. Since Lufthansa just started flying out of JFK with the new double decker this could be a good opportunity to experience your first flight on the new aircraft.

Save $20 on your next Jetblue flight

Summer fares can be a killer, especially in this new world of cost-cutting airlines and ultra sensitive passengers. So I suppose its worth mentioning the recent Amex/Jetblue promotion that’s running where you can save 20$ per flight over this summer.

No, not a ridiculous fare sale or wonderful revelation. But a few extra bucks in your pocket for your summertime flight never hurts. Maybe you can use it for four extra shots of tequila at JFK airport before you get on your transcontinental flight and realize that you just spent a month’s rent on the ticket. It might help soften the blow (Tip: any tequila with red plastic hat on the bottle is a good call).

To book your ticket, use your American Express card on the Myvacation page to book your ticket. Itineraries must be booked before July 31 for travel up to August 28th.

Take 10% off your next American Airlines Flight

Summertime fares giving you the blues? Me too. Tickets to Paris are in the 1200$ range and I’m not having any of it. Such is the nature of high season travel though.

At least American Airlines feels our pain (read: is cutting capacity and trying to generate profit) a little bit. They just released a 10% off coupon code for good for all domestic travel booked through the month of May. That means that the outrageously expensive fare that you were thinking about booking to Chicago is now just expensive. Sweet!

Make sure you combine your well priced ticket with the double miles promotion that American is still running. Maybe the thought that you saved a couple bucks and earned double miles will help alleviate the fact that a barrel of oil now costs more than a month’s salary.

Book anytime between now and June 6th for your 10% off using code AAMOBI10. You must travel by June 20.

Flying to Europe? Try this NWA 20% off code

In case you still haven’t booked your springtime Europe travel, now might be a good time to do it. Northwest Airlines just published a discount code for 20% off all Europe bound flights in April.

You have to be a NWA frequent flyer in order to cash in on the deal — but it’s fairly easy to get a free number on the website. After that you have to plug in that frequent flyer number plus the reference code PR029 into the E-Cert option on the booking page in order to activate the discount.

No word on whether Northwest Airlines will still be Northwest Airlines by springtime with all of this merger talk, but you don’t have to worry about that. Whether NWA gets bought out by Delta, United, Dubai or Beijing, they’ll still fulfill their obligation for all flights reserved.

Travel must be booked by March 3rd and take place between April 6th and 20th.

Another Virgin America 20% off code

If any of you blue-staters want to get out to the opposite coast over the next eight weeks or so, Virgin America just released another 20% off code that should make your journey less expensive.

While the market values the Virgin America’s tickets seem to be slightly above the norm across the board, this code should knock prices down a bit lower. As always though, double check Kayak.com to see what other carriers like Frontier and Jetblue are offering before you pull the trigger.

Even if the price is close, you may want to consider Virgin for the swanky mood lighting and inflight entertainment. I’ve been itching to give the airline a try myself, but have yet to break free from the constraints of Midwest living. Some day soon, I hope.

Use code FLYVIRGIN to take the discount off your ticket. Travel must be between Feb 18 and May 21.
