Did we get your taste buds tingling with yesterday’s Travel Talk San Francisco segment? Well you could win one of 10 free trips to San Francisco with Trazzler.com’s City Flavor Writing Contest!

How do you enter? Submit a story about a city that you love which corresponds with one of five themes; “Foodie Temples“, “Love in the City“, “LGBT Icons“, “Neighborhood Spots“, or “Only in SF“. If you choose the fifth theme, it must be about San Francisco, otherwise the destination is up to you!

You can enter up to five submissions (one per theme) to increase your chances at being one of the 10 lucky winners that will receive round trip flights to San Francisco and a 5 night stay in the Joie de Vivre. The 5 winners chosen by Trazzler.com’s editors will also receive a writer-in-residence contract, so if you’ve got stories to tell, start writing!

Creative enough to win a free trip to Amsterdam?

The Netherlands Board of Tourism is at it again. Last year, they held an artsy contest awarding a free trip to whoever had the cleverest “what I would give up” photo entry. Now, there’s a new contest: “Just be. In Holland.“

By answering a Holland-themed question correctly on the website (no labor), you could win:

  • A monthly delivery of fresh tulips for a year
  • An exclusive Gassan 121 diamond made in Amsterdam
  • A quintessentially Dutch bicycle
  • An iconic piece of Dutch design furniture

A question will be posted each Thursday in February, starting today.

If you put in a little effort and create a photo entry “portraying how you might ‘Just be. In Holland,'” you could win two roundtrip KLM business class tickets to Amsterdam, as well as a four night stay at Sofitel Amsterdam The Grand (it’s grand).

While all this is going on, New Yorkers, keep an eye on the S train (Shuttle between Times Square and Grand Central). It’s going to look something like the photo at right, and there will be street teams from the Netherlands Board of Tourism distributing Holland-themed giveaways. Dank u wel!

Get warm with a free trip to the Cayman Islands

It’s been a doozy of a winter so far, and there are no signs that the temps are suddenly going to increase. You’ve got a long few months to go before you get warm again….unless you happen to win the Cayman Island’s new contest. The lucky winner will receive a trip for four, including air and hotel, to the tropical Cayman Islands.

The winner and friends will stay at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort on Seven Mile Beach, and will receive a free boat and snorkel trip to Stingray City, where they’ll swim with massive stingrays.

To enter, you’ll need to upload your best photo that shows one of your coldest winter moments. Upload it by March 1 and encourage all your friends to vote for you. The ten entries with the most votes will move on to the final judging, and a winner will be announced by March 10. You must be 18 or older and a resident of the US to enter and travel must take place by December 31, 2011.

Of course, for many people, the worst of winter will be over by March 10. So maybe the contest won’t help you escape the cold right away, at least not in the most literal sense. But maybe the thought of a Cayman Islands vacation – especially a free one – will warm your heart just a bit.

Cool contest for a free trip to Amsterdam

The Netherlands Board of Tourism and Lloyd Hotel (pictured) have teamed up to bring one lucky winner (and a buddy) to Amsterdam for free — well, almost free.

This contest is about sacrifice: they want to know what you would give for a trip to Amsterdam … literally. To enter, visit Holland’s Facebook page and “submit a photo and brief description of something you are willing to trade in return for the trip — a prized possession that invokes the conceptual, almost art-like spirit of Dutch design.”

So, what’s free airfare, a three night stay (breakfast included), and a free dinner worth to you? A bicycle? Your remote control? That mug your niece made you in pottery class? Choose wisely; the winner’s object will be displayed at Lloyd Hotel.

You have until December 7 to enter. Just snap a photo of what you’d trade and upload it — what have you got to lose?
