GadlingTV’s Travel Talk – LAX to Rome in style

GadlingTV’s Travel Talk, episode 23 – Click above to watch video after the jump

Travel Talk is going international for the first time – and we’re doing it in style! Last month, we had the chance to cover Alitalia’s inaugural flight from LAX to Rome to see how the airline is reinventing itself as a private company.

On the couch, we’ll discuss national airlines and the advantages that they have over the competition, and what led to the original Alitalia’s bankruptcy. When in Rome, we’ll be sharing the classic highlights of the city as well as a few less well known points of interest – so kick back, enjoy the ride, and get ready to explore Rome!

GadlingTV’s Travel Talk – On Par in Catalina

In continuation of our series on Catalina Island, we decided to settle the score on our golf skills once and for all!

After brushing up on our swings in Orlando, it was time to take our game to the links of Catalina, where the green is only minutes away from the shores of the Pacific and the course is welcome to golfers of all levels (thankfully). Check out this bonus clip to see who came out ahead.

In part one of our Catalina adventure, we surprised Aaron with a trip to the island for some quality undersea exploration. Now, join us as we explore more of the island for some zip lining, a tour of the famous Casino in Avalon, and yes, more scuba diving.

Located 22 miles southwest of Los Angeles, Catalina Island has a rich history as a private island and as a tourist destination. On the couch, we’ll talk about some of the many people who have claimed ownership to the island and why Avalon’s iconic casino isn’t the gambling type, and how Catalina is looking to boost their tourism industry once more.
