Icelandic Travel Summit

So it’s like 140 degrees in New York these days. I usually walk to my office, and by the time I get here, it looks
as though I just jumped in the ocean or spent the morning running a triathlon. I’d take the subway, but when it gets
this hot, standing on the platform can be like visiting a Turkish sauna, with hirsute foul-smelling men in ample
supply. So what do I dream of on days like this? Cooler climes, to be sure. And that is why this  “cool” event
caught my eye.

Billing itself as the “coolest” Travel Summit on the Planet, the
Icelandic Geographic Travel Summit 2005 opens
in Reykjavik, Iceland on September 8, 2005, and will feature travel writing luminaries like Tim Cahill, Bill Bryson,
Tim Moore, Lonely Planet founders Maureen and Tony Wheeler, and more…now that’s a serious lineup of
travel talent.
