Airline Films: A Family Affair

The SF Gate site
has a quirky
article
about airlines films, and how 30,000 feet may be the last bastion of a family film environment. Instead of
“war-mongering, sex-addicted, explosion-obsessed” actors like Vin Diesel, we get Miss Congeniality. But make no
mistake, Sandra Bullock rules the stratosphere. The SF to Boston trip on United has got “Madagascar” going east, and “A
Lot Like Love” coming west. Makes sense. Let’s face it, everyone has to watch what’s up on the screen, so the last
thing you’re going to put up there is Debbie Does Dallas. But while we’re on the topic, I’d like to suggest they create
a complete “no movie” sections on planes. A place where you don’t have to have that annoying flicker of light in your
peripheral vision as you’re trying to get some work done. Now that makes sense to me.
