Since I spent a fair number of years in Seattle, I have to say I’m pleased to see the town get
some East Coast
props. It’s not often that’s the case.
As much as people here want to profess they hold no bias against Western states, I’m afraid that ain’t the case. No
matter. I’m not looking to get into an argument here, and that’s a discussion for a future post.
I just wanted to point to the
WAPO’s fine piece on
houseboats in Lake Union. Several of my good friends lived on houseboats in Seattle, and it was always a pleasure to go
and hang out at their pads. Especially during a rain storm when the whole house would rock and shimmy. That helped make
drinking games a lot more fun.
