If you’re a world music fan and you happen to be in or are visiting New York, you might be interested in a place
called Satalla. It’s known as New York’s “Temple of World Music” and this is the
place you would catch bands from Mongolia or South Africa rather than, say, Staten Island. Why,
coming up soon…very soon…is
a tribute to congo-meister Carlos “Patato” Valdés. The venue is located at 37 West 26TH Street, and I am told is really
the place to go to feel like you’re traveling without leaving the city. Here’s the
calendar for more throughout the month. And oh yeah, they have food
too.
