Destination December: Norway

I know. You’re saying to yourself, how can he recommend one of the coldest places on earth during
December. Well, it’s Christmas time, folks, and nothing, perhaps with the exception of the North Pole (and skydiving
it) says Christmas as much as Norway. You know Norway is where Santa summers? Yup. That’s a fact.

Here is the local English-language version of
Aftenposten, a newspaper for Norway. Filled with articles
about what’s going on and even some Norway webcams, this is a good
place to get an idea for things to do. For example, how about visiting the
Munch museum or  kicking back and
checking out the Lucia parade. Of course,
you can’t really hit Oslo without checking out a few of the bars
(remember, alcohol is pricey in Scandinavia). But also, here is a very impressive
Norway guide
from the folks at the Norwegian Tourist Board. Seriously, for a government site, this is amazing. For
tour ideas, maybe take a look at what you
can do between Oslo and Bergen. Or if you’re looking for great winter events in Norway, check out
this site, which lists great things to do from skiing to all the Christmas
parties going down in the country.

What about getting there? Well Finnair has flights to Oslo from New York for
less than $500. So consider heading out later in December, getting yourself a nice cup of Glog and say Skol!
