Arkansas: Firehouse Hostel

News about the
re-opening of an old firehouse as a hostel in Little Rock, AR should come as awfully good news considering Little Rock
hasn’t any hostels at the moment. The firehouse originally opened in 1917 and shut it’s doors in 1960 when a newer one
opened. Right now the building is used as storage space and for various other Parks & Recreation programs. After a
small face lift the firehouse should be usable by the end of 06′ keeping a theme to go hand in hand with the name.
Artifacts and memorials dedicated to the city’s firefighters will be featured inside. With all the action and attention
the area has been receiving the city hopes to attract more international travelers. The Firehouse Hostel hopes to attract those on a budget. The
closest large hostels to the city are located in Dallas and Memphis.
