Sure it’s raining, and hot and muggy and kind of uncomfortable, but you KNOW you want to visit New York City this summer. And I’ll tell you one reason why that’s a good idea. The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, the former Navy aircraft carrier (a monster beast that is moored in the Hudson River on Manhattan’s West Side), is closing in October.
They’re towing the gargantuan to a nearby shipyard to make renovations. But if you come to the Big Apple before then, you can explore the warship that was commissioned during World War II and checkout the Concorde supersonic airliner that sits there as well. BTW: I have to make a disclaimer: I’ve lived here for six years and have NEVER actually visited it. But I hear it’s cool :-).
