I remember reading about AARP’s bimonthly magazine at World Hum
not too long
ago, and I made a mental note to take a look at the publication’s
travel section when I had a chance. Thanks to my forever-young
father, I found the latest issue of the mag mixed in with the mail that
arrived at my folk’s house during the Thanksgiving holiday. I had a look at their travel features and was impressed
with their offerings. The first article looks at a growing trend among retirees looking for an alternative way to
travel abroad. Follow Your Dreams profiles a French
housesitting experience and explores this unique affordable travel option that is popular with the 50-plus travel
market. The second piece is a web-only exclusive that suggests
Out-of-the-Ordinary Vacation ideas like a
homestay with US Servas or a tour of Ancient America with
American Archeology. Both stories were well written and informative
with helpful links to aid further research and travel planning. It gave me some good ideas and things to consider when
planning trips with or for my folks, especially for those future milestone anniversaries and birthdays.
