Conde Nast Traveler Loaded this Month

Every once in a while I come across a travel magazine that has the perfect combination of articles collected within a single monthly issue.

The July issue of Conde Nast Traveler is exactly that.

Somehow the editors have managed to appeal to my travel lust in its many varied forms. First off, the cover itself–a photo of the Maldives–caught my attention in a way normally reserved for the Sport Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. The amazing blue colors, white sands, and thatched roofs of a tropical getaway are made all the more alluring by a quaint little gondola floating in the foreground. To tempt me inside, the cover promises a veritable cornucopia of island information; the Best Islands, the Maldives: the Ultimate Oasis, and the World’s 30 Top Island Beaches.

Those three articles satiated my tropical whims, but Traveler wasn’t done with me yet. The editors thought they’d throw in something which appeals to the other end of my travel spectrum: Iceland’s Endless Summer. And then they about-faced again and took me to the Islands of Paris to appeal to my more sophisticated hoity-toity side, before whisking me off to 20 Eco-Lux Retreats to rub up against my tree-hugger side.

Okay, before any one starts tossing out accusations that Gadling owns Conde Nast and this is one big fat plug for the magazine, let me assure you that it does not. Gadling’s continuing pledge to bring our readers the very best of what the travel world has to offer occasionally means pimping out a magazine to which we have no association whatsoever.

So rush out and pick up a copy; you’ll be sure to enjoy it as much as I have. And stay tuned; we will be highlighting some of the above mentioned articles in the next few days.
