This was a great morning surprise. I just found out that Ridley Scott, one of my favorite directors of all time, is
goiing to direct Shadow Divers, one of my favorite
recent books. For those who don’t know, the book follows John Chatterton and Richie Kohler, two deep sea wreck
divers who discover a German U-boat in waters off New Jersey in 1991. The two spend seven years trying to discover the
boat’s identity, how it got there, who was on it. Several people die in the process.
I’ve gushed about how great Shadow Divers is on
Divester and even got to meet Chatterton and Kohler at the
Dive Expo way back when, both of whom now do a show for the History Channel called Deep Sea Detectives. So this is
great. I’m sure with Scott on board the film will be as good as the book. I am already trying to figure out who will
play Chatterton and Kohler.
