First Airspace lounge launches at Baltimore’s BWI airport

Baltimore Washington International airport just got a little bit sleeker, thanks Saturday’s opening of their new Airspace Lounge.

Located in Concourse D, (currently serving AirTran, Cape Air, Continental, United and US Airways), the modern lounge offers American Express Platinum Card members free access and us regular folk $17.50 daily access to complimentary food and beverages, including breakfast items in the morning, a hearty sandwich during the afternoon and evening, snacks, coffee, tea and soft drinks. In addition, visitors will enjoy complimentary wireless internet, power outlets at every seat, the use of MacBooks and Windows PCs, comfortable seating, workspace areas and in-lounge restrooms. A full-service bar is also available for an extra fee. We’re thinking this sounds like just the place to kick back before our flight, considering that our previous options included choices like college bar The Greene Turtle, the “you’re definitely not in Ireland” Shannon’s Pub or the cheesy Rum Island Bar. Faster options include Auntie Anne’s pretzels, Mickey D’s and Manchu Wok.

Still, you won’t be guaranteed a cheap fee. The lounge will offer an LCD screen outside to advertise the daily fee, which varies depending on how crowded the lounge is. Depending on demand, the fee will rise up to $40, reports Terminal U. The lounge also plans to offer monthly memberships soon after launch.

Airspace Lounge aims to open up to 40 lounges within the first two years of opening at BWI Airport. Check out the video from Fox News, below:
