The day after Christmas is Boxing day in Australia, and for
those sea-loving Aussies that means one thing: the Rolex Sydney
Hobart Yacht race. The gnarly boat competition takes sailors 723 miles from Sydney harbor through the Tasman Sea to
Tasmania’s Hobart (not the place where they invented those big dish washing machines). And of course, when the race is
all over, you can hang out around the barbie (sorry!) and watch the famous fireworks display at Sydney harbor, which
this year will feature some 80,000 fireworks…burning snakes not included.
