New Look of Korean Air

If you’re flying Korean Air in
the coming months take notice to the dashing designer made
uniforms attendants will be sporting down the aisle.  Almost sounds like
a runway fashion show, but not quite.  Italian designer, Gianfranco Ferre was called upon after 14 years of
the same old drab uniform to give Korean Air a fresher look, one that functions and has style.  The
uniforms are nice enough to wear out the work place said one attendant.  That’s really great! I’m happy for
the folks there as being comfortable in your uniform is a must and so long as they don’t take meals off anymore flights
I’ll stay all smiles.

Simonworld

Always on the lookout for great blogs, I came across
Simonworld again and had a nice long read. He covers most everything Asian, and
always with a smart-ass tone. His links to daily events and other Asian blogs are well-kept up and amazingly
comprehensive. This is a great Asia blog, particularly if you are planning a trip to that part of the world and want to
catch up on what’s happening.

Cameron Diaz is Trippin’

If you’re thinking the new MTV show Trippin’ brought to you by Cameron Diaz is going to be a reflection of her personal life, think again. Ms. Diaz has spent a good chunk of time globe-trotting with other celebs like Kid Rock, Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba, Drew Barrymore and (coughs) Justin Timberlake to show MTV viewers just how awesome and rockin’ eco-traveling can be. The show which premiere’s Monday 10:30 PM ET/PT will have a 10-episode run showcasing fragile ecological places in Nepal, Bhutan, Costa Rica, Honduras, Tanzania and Yellowstone. The MTV junkie I have been notorious for being will surely check it out.

Shanghai Photo Essay in Time

And while we’re on the subject of Asia, Time Magazine has got a
sweet photo essay on China and Shanghai.
Called “The New World Capital” it really brings out the vibrancy and excitement of one of the world’s fastest
growing, most intriguing cities. More than anything else I’ve seen in a while, this series of photos made me want to go
to China.

A Little Tude With Your Food

USA Today

has a piece on the snippy side to Chicago dining and some with flair.  Those who
love dinner theater will find Chicago’s Improv Kitchen a real winner, where they place a
camera and a microphone at each table for actors to see restaurant patrons.  This allows guests to give improv
suggestions that tickle their fancy.  Other dining spots like Ed Debevic’s allow the wait staff to snap gum
while impatiently taking your order.  Though I’m not wild about a camera being placed on my table (I’m
typically a little klutzy with those things around), I do find letting the staff give off a little
attitude enticing.
