Friday Funny: Peter Sellers for TWA

Today’s Friday Funny some to us via YouTube, courtesy of Jaunted, and is a marvelously campy old commercial done for TWA featuring the late, great Peter Sellers. If this doesn’t make you laugh out loud and close your eyes for a moment of silence for the prodigious talent of Sellers, well, something’s wrong with you. Marvelous.

Friday Funny: Robin Williams

Robin Williams fans will devour this wonderful interview that took place yesterday on NPR’s Fresh Air program. I was driving through Connecticut yesterday and caught the interview and my eyes were tearing up listening to the piece. But it is also thoughtful, touching and totally interesting. Williams has pretty much been on of my favorite comics since Mork and Mindy. He’s had some rough spots (Patch Adams and What Dreams May Come). But really, he’s a bona-fide comedic genius, and this interview is a prime example of that.

Friday Funny: Diet Coke and Mentos: The Fountain Opera

Once again for today’s Friday Funny I have to depart a bit from the theme of travel. I apologize, but I came across ths video over at Revver and I was just too impressed and blown away NOT to bring it to the attention of a wider audience. So, dear Gadling readers, take a look at this wonderful soda symphony, the wonderfully entertaining efforts of several geeky looking fellows who take two simple ingredients: Diet Coke and Mentos, and come up with one of the finest fountain scenes this side of Ocean’s Eleven. Talk about giving new meaning to the term soda fountain.

Friday Funny: The Onion

For today’s Friday Funny, I’ve got to go back to a classic Onion piece with the headline: Fritolaysia Cuts Off Chiplomatic Relations With Snakistan. This wickedly clever satire takes on an increasingly common type of conflict between small nations and former republics of this or that. It is a giggle fest worthy of Jon Stewart. But for me to sit here and describe it further, well, that’s just dumb and lessens it’s fun. So just go and read…
