Daily deal – Sansa Clip 2GB MP3 player with FM radio for $19.99

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is perfect for anyone looking for a cheap and stylish MP3 player who would rather stay away from the iPod. The Sandisk Sansa Clip has 2GB of storage, which should be enough for around 500 songs.

The player has (as the name implies), a clip on the back, which makes it easy to carry around, even if you don’t have any pockets. In addition to being a regular MP3 player, the Sansa Clip also features an FM radio with 40 presets, a voice memo recorder and a 5 band equalizer.

Getting your tunes on the player is as simple as “drag and drop”. Included in the package is the Sansa player, a USB cable and a pair of headphones. The player has an internal rechargeable battery and carries enough power for up to 15 hours of music playback.

The Sansa Clip is on sale through Woot.com, which means it is yet another “deal a day” offering; these sites offer one product a day, and often run out of stock halfway through the afternoon. As with all Woot! deals, shipping is a flat $5 and they only charge tax in their home state of Texas.

Daily deal – JBL Onstage II portable iPod speaker dock

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is a great product for travelers who’d like to bring their music on the road. The JBL Onstage II is a portable stereo speaker dock with inserts for most iPod models (the iPod Touch and iPhone are not compatible).

With your iPod inserted in the Onstage II, you can even use the included remote control to change the volume and skip tracks.

The JBL Onstage II can only be powered off AC, so it is not the best option for taking on a camping trip. Included in the box is the speaker itself, an AC adapter with international power compatibility and the RF remote control. If you are looking for a battery operated speaker, check out my review of the Altec Lansing Orbit speaker.

This speaker dock usually retails for around $70, but you can pick one up today for just $29.99. Shipping is through UPS ground and is just $6. Stootsi is another “one deal a day” site, so please do keep in mind that this item will be gone soon.

Daily deal – Flip Ultra series 30 minute digital camcorder – $50 from Dell.com

by Scott Carmichael on

(Update, looks like the deal is dead already, sorry about that!)

My daily deal for today is for the Flip Ultra series digital camcorder. This digital camcorder features a built in flash memory card for up to 30 minutes of video. Once you are done recording, the small flip-out USB connector allows you to instantly transfer the recordings to your computer.

The Flip Ultra has a 1.5″ color screen, a 2x digital zoom and an output for displaying your movies on TV, a video cable is included in the package. The Flip camera is perfect for short video clips on your trip, as it runs off regular AA batteries and is very durable.

If you enjoy underwater activities, then you’ll love the Flip underwater case which can be found on Amazon for under $30 (check the “other” vendors listed on the right side of the Amazon page). The combination of the Flip camera and the underwater case make this the cheapest underwater video camera available on the market.

This camera normally retails for $149, but if you order it from Dell.com, you’ll get an instant $50 off, plus an additional $50 instant rebate, bringing the price down to just $50. To make the deal even better, you’ll even get free ground shipping!

To get the additional $50 off, you will need to enter coupon code KGJQ72S6F0H828 on the checkout page. The coupon code should be valid till September 3rd, but Dell often ends promotions early so don’t wait around too long.

Daily deal – Streamlight 3C xenon flashlight – $12.76 from Amazon

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the Streamlight 3C flashlight. Streamlight have long been one of the number one rated flashlight makers, and are very popular with outdoors fans, and professionals. Many rescue services also depend on Streamlight for their flashlights.

This new model from the Streamlight lineup is powered by 3 C alkaline batteries, and has a xenon gas filled lamp, capable of producing 50 lumens for up to five and a half hours.

The lamp is made from propolymer, making it virtually indestructible, and it is approved for use in hazardous situations (check the Amazon listing for the type approvals). If you want to read more about the manufacturer, then check out the product link on the Streamlight site.

The Streamlight 3C usually retails for around $35, but Amazon currently lists it for just $12.76. You’ll have to order over $25 to reach the Amazon free shipping threshold.
