Daily deal – refurbished Magellan Maestro 3100 GPS unit $79.99 after rebate

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal of the day for today is the Magellan Maestro 3100 GPS unit. Despite the insanely low price, this is actually a good solid device with pretty decent reviews.

You get 750,000 points of interest stored in the unit, maps of North America, turn by turn spoken directions and 3D maps. The Maestro 3100 has a 3.5″ anti-glare display and automatically adjusts for night or day colors.

Included in the box is the unit itself, a windshield mount, car charger cord, USB data cable and an adhesive disk (for mounting the unit on your dashboard).

To get the low price, you need to submit a $20 rebate, and be aware that you are purchasing a refurbished unit. Refurbished means that it was once sent back to Magellan, where it was returned to its “as new” condition. You still get the full 12 months manufacturers warranty, so there is very little risk involved.

The refurbished Magellan 3100 is $99.99 “out the door”, and shipping is free. To purchase this unit, head on over to Radioshack.com or Amazon.com. The rebate is valid on purchases made until August 31st.

Daily deal – High Sierra travel luggage 50% off from Amazon

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is a nice clearance on High Sierra travel luggage.

Included in the sale are all kinds of bags; backpacks, waist bags, messenger bags and even a rigid frame backpack.

Most of the bags come with very good reviews and the main advantage is that the bags are very light which is a “must have” for anyone who likes to travel without the weight of a heavy bag pushing down on them.

When you find a bag you like, you’ll notice that the price depends on the color you select. Some bags double in price when you select a more popular color, so if you want the lowest price, you may have to settle for a color you don’t like.

The bags ship for free with Amazon Super Saver Shipping when your order is over $25. You can find the entire selection of High Sierra clearance products here.

Daily deal – 50% off EVERYTHING at Protravelgear.com!

by Scott Carmichael on

Ladies and gentlemen, this deal is without a doubt the hottest I’ve posted so far here on Gadling.

Protravelgear.com is a large online travel products store, with everything from luggage to GPS units. They are also the official outlet for the Plane Quiet noise canceling headphones (reviewed here last week).

My deal isn’t for one product, it’s for the entire store! Anything you add to your cart is on sale. Simply enter promotional code save50, and you’ll get an instant 50% off everything, including those awesome headphones I just mentioned.

The store has name brand products from Eagle Creek, Leatherman, Patagonia and many, many more.

If you find something you like, do me a favor and leave a comment with what you purchased!

Daily deal – Acer Aspire One ultra portable notebook – $399

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is a bit different from my other “hot” deals. The Acer Aspire One is an ultra portable notebook (the new name is “netbook”) and on the inside you’ll find an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of ram, a 120GB hard drive and Windows XP. On the outside, you get a nice 8.9″ display, a fairly spacious keyboard, a webcam and a memory card reader.

The deal itself isn’t extremely hot, but it is being sold at one of the only stores that actually has this new machine in stock, plus it is currently the best value for money of any Netbook on the market (in my personal opinion of course).

The Acer Aspire One (model AO-A150-1570) costs just $399, and while that may be more than some of the regular sized notebooks on the market, it does offer a great value for money compared to other ultra portables. If you are lucky enough to live anywhere near a Microcenter store, you can take a closer look at one in person, and buy one right away, or you can place an online order and the machine will ship in 1-3 business days.

If you plan to do some comparison shopping, be aware that there are two different versions of this computer; one is in stock at several other (online) stores, and costs $379, but it only has 512MB of memory and just 8GB of hard drive storage, plus it runs a special version of Linux instead of Windows XP. At just $20 more, you’ll understand why the version I am posting here is such a “hot” deal – until the next model Netbook comes along of course.

Daily deal – Canon HV20 Hi-def camcorder for $539.99 (refurbished)

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the highly rated Canon HV20 HD camcorder. This high definition recorder shoots video in true 1080 widescreen format, directly to regular (cheap) miniDV tapes.

The camera normally retails for around $720, but if you can deal with a refurbished version, it could be yours for just $539.99+$5 for shipping.

Refurbished products have been sent back to the manufacturer (for any number of reasons), and have been returned to their “as new” condition. One word of warning about refurbished products though – even though many credit cards offer additional warranty on purchases, this warranty usually does not apply when the product was refurbished. The HV20 comes with a limited 90 day warranty.

Included in this package is the camera itself, a battery pack, AC charger, remote control, HD video cable and of course the user manual.

The Canon HV20 HD camcorder is on sale through the Woot spinoff “Woot Sellout”. To get to the sales page, you will have to enter through shopping.yahoo.com, then right in the middle of the screen you will see the Canon HV20. By clicking on that, you will be taken to sellout.woot.com. You HAVE to go through the Yahoo page to get to the deal. As always with Woot! deals, once it is sold out, the deal is gone. At the moment, this camera is still in stock, but there is no telling how long that will last.
