Photo Of The Day: Hanalei Bay Rainbow

Gadling Flickr Pool member Scott Slater says, “A brief rainstorm came by while I was swimming, and this rainbow appeared.” Where have you caught a brief moment of sun through the clouds — at the beach, the lake, the mountains?

Photo Of The Day: Arch, Arch & More Arch

Today’s featured photo comes from Gadling Flickr Pool member Peter Rood. The St. Louis Arch is certainly a sight to behold, and the angle of this image makes it quite impressive. Now tell us — what monument or building has impressed you the most?

Photo Of The Day: Cancun Dreamin’

I know, I know, the song by The Mamas & The Papas is about California, not Cancun. But with the weather turning so-slightly colder in Virginia, seeing photos plastered across Reddit of warmer, tropical climes found my fingers searching YouTube for the 1965 hit.

Photo Of The Day: Street Art in Vietnam

Traveling isn’t always about the “touristy” parts of your destination. Sometimes, you want to hit the side streets for a taste of the more gritty, local culture. Many urban areas and downtown alleyways feature explosions of color in the name of “street art” — aka, graffiti. Some cities hate it, others embrace it. Where have you seen the most interesting street art?

Travel Back Thursday: Union Pacific Depot

Okay, today’s stunning, color photo isn’t actually from many years ago — it was taken in 2011. However, the subject of the photo was most notable in the early 1900s. The Union Pacific Depot opened in 1909, and provided rail services for the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City Railroad. It served as Salt Lake City’s railroad transportation center well into the 1970s.
