Video of the Day: Zombie Walk in Columbus, Ohio

People like to argue over the best time to visit places. You’ll hear plenty of people recommend Paris in the spring, wax poetic on the Alaskan winter and suggest New England in autumn. For our money, however, it’s all about Columbus, Ohio during the zombie apocalypse. Columbus hosted it’s seemingly annual Zombie Walk this past weekend. It’s hard to tell what’s happening in this video, but it looks like faux military personnel are fighting against some zombies with pretty impressive makeup. Not exactly your typical tourist attraction but a pretty amusing activity nonetheless.

So, the next time someone asks you about the best time to visit central Ohio, let them know that mid-May is the time to go. Go for the temperate spring weather, stay for the end of mankind.

Video of the Day: Rihanna prefers a California King Bed

When you stay at a hotel, one of the most important things is the quality of the bed. No one wants to sleep in a twin bed. Who needs two queens if you’re just there with your wife? And, if you’re tall, you’ll want the extra length provided by a California king bed. Apparently, Rihanna feels very strongly about needing 86″ of length in her mattress, because she wrote a whole song about it.

Granted, we have no idea what the hell is happening in this video and we’re certain that her hair color does not occur in nature, but it sure is a lengthy bed. And, at the end of the day – literally – isn’t that all that matters?

Video of the Day – Real Madrid and FC Barcelona Animation

Though many American sports fans are currently preoccupied with the NBA and Stanley Cup Playoffs, there’s a different sort of post-season sports fever going on right now in Europe: the UEFA Champions League. The annual event, which pits the top soccer clubs from across Europe against one another, is among the most-watched sporting events in the world. This past week, two of Spain’s top teams, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona squared off to decide who would play in the event’s Championship. The video above celebrates the heated rivalry between these two top-notch teams. Instead of video replays though, we get a beautiful animated recreation of the match. It’s sports elevated to high art. Like or loathe soccer, it’s a stunning clip to watch.

Video of the Day: SNL jokes about Southwest plane accident

Southwest Airlines has had some troubles recently, including an incident where the roof of one of their planes just, you know, started to tear away from the rest of the aircraft. On this past weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live, Weekend Update welcomed a flight attendant from that damaged flight. Well, it was the talented Kristin Wiig portraying one of the Dallas-based airline’s employees. Seeing as how the plane landed safely and there was only one reported injury (to a flight attendant, though), we see nothing wrong with cracking a few jokes about the situation. Besides, it’s about time we all got to see those oxygen masks put to use.

Was the skit out of bounds? Did you get a laugh out of it? Let us know in the comments.

Video of the Day: Is this a real car accident?

We love road trips here at Gadling. Avoiding the stress of air travel, stopping at random landmarks and bonding with friends make road tripping a fantastic vacation option. Driving, however, can be dangerous. You have to look out for potholes, aggressive drivers and random pieces of wood that come shooting at your windshield. We have no idea if this video is real (why was someone just randomly filming the ride and not talking?) but is sure gave us a scare. Car accident videos – real or fake – remind us to drive safely, buckle up and always keep our eyes on the road.
