Daily Pampering: Suite rides at The Peninsula Beverly Hills

Want to live like a celeb? First, you’ll need a “suite” ride. Guests at Beverly Hill’s famed property The Peninsula are finding that proposition even easier.

From now until September 30, 2011, guests who book any of the hotel’s 36 suites are offered complimentary use of their choice of three 2011 Cadillac models or a 2011 Chevrolet Corvette for the length of their stay. The Peninsula’s fleet of six vehicles includes the fastest V8 production sedan in the world (the 2011 Cadillac CST-V) , a hybrid Escalade Platinum Edition with three eight-inch backseat screens and wireless headsets and of course the famed Corvette.

“Los Angeles is all about the car,” says Offer Nissenbaum, managing director of The Peninsula Beverly Hills. “We want our guests to have the most luxurious driving option when making their way from the hotel to wherever they have to go-or want to go.”

Guests booking The Peninsula Beverly Hills’ suites-including the Villa Suites, Superior Suites, California and Deluxe Suites, Grand Deluxe Suites, Patio Suite, Peninsula Suite and Peninsula Villas-must request use of a complimentary automobile when making a reservation; they are based upon availability and guests must provide a copy of their driver’s license and proof of insurance. Tax, insurance and gas are not included.

The entire tower was crafted by London impresario Stuart Hughes, who is known for his propensity towards the extreme – he’s already created diamond-encrusted iPads, iPhones, televisions and more. the system is bedecked with 32 kilos of solid gold, 70 diamonds (0.75 carats each) and Aventurine and Topaz stones.

But, like all good things – there’s a caveat. Only five of these babies are available for sale, each at a cool $1.85 million.

Daily Pampering: The Lanesborough & Laurent-Perrier Master Class

The Lanesborough, one of London’s most exclusive hotels, is partnering with Laurent-Perrier, creator of unique and elegant Champagnes, to bring guests a dinner they’ll never forget.

On September 28, The Lanesborough will host a unique tasting of Laurent-Perrier champagnes presented by David Hesketh, Managing Director of Laurent-Perrier UK and distinguished Master of Wine. The master class features the world’s finest champagnes including the Grand Siècle prestige cuvée, Laurent Perrier vintages from 1999 and 1993, as well as an extremely rare offering from 1982. In addition, the champagnes are paired with an 8-course menu designed by Michelin starred chef Heinz Beck that includes:

  • Blue Lobster, papaya, mango and avocado, paired with Ultra Brut
  • Langoustine potato and black olive dust, paired with Grand Siècle
  • Risotto with oyster and champagne, paired with Grand Siècle
  • Gnocchi with chive and caviar, paired with Laurent Perrier 2000
