Photo Of The Day: Vintage American

by Meg Nesterov on Jan 17, 2013

This morning, the Internet (okay, maybe just airline nerds) was abuzz over American Airlines‘ newly unveiled logo. The new look features a streamlined eagle with a red and blue wing. I dug through the Gadling Flickr pool in hopes of finding a vintage AA logo, and found one from our own pilot-in-residence, Kent Wien. This retro jet is decked out with the early ’60s logo and colors (don’t worry, the aircraft was up-to-date) of American Airlines, with a more realistic eagle than the new version or the iconic design in use since 1967. Which do you prefer?

Add your favorite airline shots to the Gadling Flickr pool for a future Photo of the Day.
