The gloves are coming off, Virgin America: you may be offering free drinks on your Wednesday flights all month. You may have hottie hot hot models on your flights and Richard Branson as your playboy financier. You might even have super crazy in-seat chatting on your personalized LCD screens.

But we can beat that. Because we’re giving away free drinks for ANY DAY OF THE WEEK on United Airlines right here at Gadling. That’s right, by commenting on this post you can register yourself to win two free beverages on ANY United Airlines flight in the month of June. Flying on a Monday or Saturday? No problem, drinks are on us.

We’ll pick two lucky winners to send two vouchers each. We only ask that you’re over 21 years of age and that you actually be flying on a United Airlines flight before June 30, when the tickets expire. Happy Cinco De Mayo! In honor of this fifth day of May, we’re teaming up with Southwest Airlines to give away a free pair of roundtrip tickets to anywhere they fly.

That’s right, whether you want to fly from Albany to Albuquerque for your Aunt Jennie’s Apple Pie or Washington DC to West Palm Beach, for cousin Willy’s famous four-day Thanksgiving bar crawl, you can cash these tickets in on us.

Tickets are good to redeem up to one year from the contest end with no blackout dates for you and a special friend. Happy Birthday Engadget! Enter to win free Virgin America tickets

Our sister blog Engadget turns four this month and what better way to celebrate than to give stuff away? They’ve teamed up with one of our favorite airlines, Virgin America, to give away six pairs of tickets to anywhere the airline flies.

Soon you too can be cruising the mood-lit skies while you browse through hundreds of movies, mp3, videogames and sip martinis. Or you could relax into your leather seats, log into the inter-cabin chat room and try to hit on the hottie in 13b. It doesn’t matter to us, just tell them that Engadget sent you.

Just remember, Virgin America doesn’t fly to Middle America. If you do plan on entering in this contest, take a look at their route map and make sure that you’re in the proximity of one of their airports. After all, it doesn’t make much sense to buy a ticket from Portland to San Francisco just to take a free ticket to Seattle, right?

Anyone want a free Northwest Airlines WorldClub pass?

[Sorry for the delay in getting this posted — we had some legal issues to iron out]

Many of you have been privy to the ongoing discussion between Iva and myself about the virtues and the vices of airline club memberships. I think the benefit has come down to how valuable you find a) free snacks and alcohol and b) free wireless. While the noise is a bit quieter and the seats a bit more comfortable, other purported benefits may not be as useful as the airlines say.

Well, it’s time for you to make your own opinion. I have an extra one-time use WorldClub pass that I can send to any Gadlinger that can use it. It expires March 31st and you must be 21 years old to use it. It also helps if you’re flying on NW, although you don’t necessarily have to be. Just make sure that the terminal that you’re flying through has a WorldClub in it (and that its not in the next terminal over).

All that we ask in return is that you USE the pass and write in to tell us what you thought of the WorldClub. It doesn’t have to be an award-winning essay — just drop us an email telling us how you found the experience.
