Crazy in-flight video clips – vomiting, tasers and dancing girls

Crazy stuff happens when you lock people up in a metal tube with poor air circulation. Some freak out, others may start dancing. We’ve collected some of the funniest video clips from on board.

Riverdance on a plane? You bet! And I found it just as annoying as on the ground. ” Crazy lady freaks out” is about as creative as I could get with this one. She’s either loopy, or she managed to pop a couple of “special cookies” in the bathroom before landing.

Not a real clip, but this sketch from “How to irritate people” is a must watch (unless you are a pilot looking for fun things to do to us passengers).

This rapping Southwest Airlines flight attendant is brilliant – we’ve featured him before here on Gadling, but in case you missed him, this is a must watch.

“I’m going to be die – shoot me” – This is a pretty sad clip, but somehow I couldn’t help laughing. Poor guy is clearly freaking out.

“Tazed and confused in Vegas” would make a good name for a movie. But it is also what happened to this big guy. Being Tazed can’t be fun – but being Tazed on a plane must really suck.

This is what can happen when you offer live video programming. It is why airlines never pick “Final Destination” as the in-flight movie.

And finally, have you ever wondered what zero-G vomit looks like? Wonder no more! (Strong stomach required!)

Dance to soothe turbulence fears – Airplane tip

One problem many fliers share is a fear of turbulence. If you fly, you’re bound to experience it at some point — but airplane turbulence doesn’t have to be scary! Bring an MP3 player aboard and, the moment the air gets bumpy, turn it to your favorite track and get groovy!

You’ll likely get some looks from the other passengers, but hey — you get to have fun and forget the fear.

When you dance in place — or “chair dance” — the dips and jolts all seem like part of the experience, and they become less noticeable. It’s tried and true advice. Don’t be skeptical; try it on your next flight!

The Broken Spoke: the best little dive bar in Austin, TX

Some dive bars are shady little neighborhood joints that no one has ever heard of, much to the delight of the patrons that frequent the place. Others are known far and wide, with legendary reputations for plenty of mayhem and fun. The Broken Spoke in Austin, Texas falls squarely in the latter category, with a fantastic mixture of food, music, and dancing that draws crowds from miles around.

In true dive bar fashion, the Broken Spoke isn’t exactly an architectural marvel. In fact, you’ll probably wonder if the place is safe at all. But the construction of the building will soon be the furthest thing from your mind when you have the opportunity to sample the famous chicken fried steak. And once the music starts, you’ll be more concerned with the impossibly large number of people on the tiny dance floor, and how you’re going to mange to squeeze in amongst the crowd.

Austin’s legendary dive bar opened its doors back in 1964 and has been serving up food, beer, and Honky Tonk Music ever since. The place is open Tuesday through Saturday each week with a live band every night. Country stars such as Dolly Parton, George Strait, and Willie Nelson have all played at the Spoke, and the wooden dance floor is always packed with two-stepping cowboys and cowgirls moving to the music.

If you’re planning a trip to Austin, be sure to include a night at the Broken Spoke. The place offers up an authentic Texas dance hall experience, with plenty of fun for everyone. Check out their calendar of events for a list of bands that will be playing there, and don’t worry if you can’t dance, lessons are held from 8-9 PM nearly every night.

Photo of the Day (12.20.2009)

I’m loving the “eye-catching,” over-the-shoulder perspective in today’s photo, brought to us courtesy of Flickr user The L-List. The picture’s subject is a Balinese dancer, preparing some pre-performance makeup. The mirror’s reflection and great angle make you feel as though you were right there backstage, getting ready to start the show.

Shake it like a Tahitian

In a language that’s mostly all vowels, a bit of interpretive dance helps communicate one’s deepest thoughts and feelings. Sad? Lower your eyes. Fierce? Scowl and posture. Happy? Shake it, baby. Travelers have been awestruck by Tahitian dancers ever since they first landed on these dancing shores. The bearded missionaries of long ago secretly loved it and today’s MTV backup singers wanna steal these moves but ain’t got no rhythm.

Every two-bit hotel in Tahiti puts on a decent dinner dance show for the tourists, but when the natives start dancing for the natives, things get hot fast. I caught this little show at an official awards ceremony on a hot white sand beach on Bora Bora. Sit back and enjoy, and just ask yourself, can you shake it like a Tahitian? I didn’t think so.
