Daily deal – Creative Zen 2GB MP3/video player for $48.99

My daily deal for today is a perfect stocking stuffer. The Creative Zen media player features music and video playback on a 2.5″ color screen.

The device also has a built in FM radio with 32 presets, a voice recorder, a clock/alarm and it can even synchronize your contacts and appointments from Microsoft Outlook!

The player usually retails for around $70, but if you don’t mind receiving a refurbished unit, then you can pick on up directly from Creative for just $48.99.

A 4GB and 8GB version are also on the site, but are currently out of stock. One other piece of fine print; the 2GB is only available in pink!

The device comes with a USB cable and a pair of headphones. The warranty on refurbished products from Creative is 90 days. If you don’t want pink, or you’d prefer a brand new (non-refurbished) player, then head on over to Amazon, where you’ll find the player for $69.99. Shipping at Creative.com on orders under $75 is about $9.

Daily deal – Creative Zen 8GB portable media player for $99

In honor of the Apple event being held today, I’ve picked a daily deal that is not an iPod. The Creative Zen 8GB portable media player is a pretty sleek little device with a very impressive lineup of media features.It has been covered in the past by fellow Gadling blogger Tynan.

Naturally, it plays music in MP3 and WMA format, as well as music downloaded from subscription services. The player also supports video, in one of the widest range of formats available; MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, DivX, XviD, MJPEG and WMV9. If none of those abbreviations mean much, don’t worry; it essentially means that the player will display almost any kind of video file you throw at it including protected files from video rental services like Amazon Unbox.

The Zen 8GB also displays your photos, it has an FM radio, a clock/alarm function, an organizer with Microsoft Outlook synchronization and you can use it as a portable 8GB hard drive for storing your important files.

At $99 it is one of the cheapest multipurpose media players on the market, and the price at Amazon.com is about $30 cheaper than most other vendors. Amazon will even ship it for free.

Included in the package is the player, a USB cable, headphones and an installation CD. The 8GB of internal storage is enough for about 2000 songs, but you can expand this with a cheap SD card.

Daily deal – 2GB Creative Labs MP3 player with FM Radio for $29.99

The daily deal for today is for the highly rated Creative Labs Zen Stone Plus 2GB MP3 player. This player is about the same size as the Apple iPod Shuffle, but unlike the Shuffle, this player has a small display. The Zen Stone Plus even has an FM radio, stopwatch, countdown timer and a clock. And if that is not enough, you even get a voice memo recorder.

This player normally sells for just under $60, but if you don’t mind buying a refurbished product, you can buy one today for just $29.99. Refurbished products are usually items that have been returned to the manufacturer and are returned to their “as new” condition. Creative Labs include a 90 day warranty with their refurbished products.

The Zen Stone is available in black, white and blue. The red and pink versions are currently out of stock, but may be available later this week.

At this price, you could pick up a player for your kids and load it with their favorite music to keep them entertained in the car or plane. The Zen Stone features a volume restriction control, to protect their ears and with 2GB of storage space, you should be able to fit up to 500 songs on the player.

The Creative Labs Zen Stone is available in their web store. Shipping is a pretty unreasonable $9.95 for one player, or (oddly enough), just $4.99 for 2. Orders of $90 or more ship for free.
