Woman demands refund for vacation spoiled by naked girls

Yesterday, I wrote about the top reasons your vacation can be spoiled – today’s news is something that most certainly was not in that lineup.

A Serbian woman is demanding a full refund of her Greek vacation, not because of bed bugs or a noisy room, but because their room was next to a room occupied by 2 girls enjoying themselves on their balcony (naked).

Apparently, these girls were out on their balcony so often, that her husband suddenly had a similar urge to soak up some sun – and just so happened to do so whenever these girls were outside.

Needless to say, this didn’t go down too well with his wife, and the source claims he even hurt his neck from enjoying the view so much.

No word on whether the couple are still together, or whether the woman will actually get her money back.

Five great ways to get naked around the world

With Nude Recreation Week just behind us, TripAdvisor has announced the top five naked events in the country. So, whether you like to wet your willie while skinny dipping or prefer to bike in the buff, you have plenty of choices to hang your wang.

Biking in the Buff: World Naked Bike Ride – Worldwide, June and July
This one just ended, but put it on your calendar for next year. Since 2004, bikers from around the world have converged to protest our car-driven culture. Show some skin for what you believe in!

Daring Dip: AANR World Record Skinny Dip – Across North America, July 2009
More than 12,000 people set a record by wearing nothing but water in July, creating the world’s largest skinny dip. Everyone had to be shoulder-deep, which I imagine was easier on the eyes in some cases … and disappointing in others.

Maslin Madness: Nude Beach Olympics – Maslin Beach, Australia, January
You have time to plan for this! Maslin is Australia’s first official nude beach, so you can take part in history as you stumble along in the three-legged race (feet, mind you, are joined).

Barely Bulls: Running of the Nudes – Pamplona, Spain, July
PETA’s “Running of the Nudes” is meant to protest bullfighting, but it doesn’t have to be political. Free your body from that fabric prison, and mingle with the few hotties you can find at these types of event. One TripAdvisor traveler admits, “I was shocked but entertained because everything was jiggling around and flopping around, if you know what I mean.”

Share Some Skin: Burning Man – Black Rock Desert, Nevada, August – September
This is an American classic, billing itself as a retreat for self-expression, creativity and community. Burning Man attracted almost 50,000 people to the Black Rock Desert in 2008, many of them getting service without shirts or shoes.

Naked guy forces Albuquerque landing

Keith Wright, a New Yorker (damn!) felt restricted by more than just cramped airline seating today. On a flight from Charlotte to Los Angeles, he ditched his clothing and did not respond (vocally, at least) to flight attendant requests to put them back on. The mile-high nudist also wouldn’t accept the cover of a blanket.

As a result of Wright’s defiance, the US Airways flight was diverted to Albuquerque, where the passenger was met by federal authorities. According to the FBI, he’s now in federal custody, with a charge of interfering with flight crew members and attendants. Once Wright got off (the plane), the flight continued to its planned destination.

Every story has a moral: you’ll have no problem getting a blanket from a flight attendant if you strip.

Swedish man + Singaporean woman = fine for naked walk

Jan and Eng went through a bar, each sans stitch of clothes. Neither fell down, but they were fined A$1,840 (around US$1,350) each.

Jan Philip and Eng Kai Er walked into a bar in Singapore’s Holland Village just for laughs after having a few drinks (big shock … drunk naked people). This isn’t exactly the best place for a thrill, however. Singapore doesn’t appreciate the unadorned human form, banning even Playboy magazine.

Both are exchange students – Philip is a studying in Singapore, and Er is a Singaporean studying in Sweden. When they appeared in court recently, they were fully clothed.

Fortunately, Philip is 21, and Er is 24. If they were over 50, this story wouldn’t have been nearly as much fun.

Swiss say no to naked hikers in the Alps

Voters in the Swiss Canton of Appenzell Inner Rhodes got to have their say in a proposal put together to ban naked hikers in their region of the Alps.

The (primarily German) hikers had been prancing through the Alps without any clothes, much to the chagrin of the residents.

People caught in the buff will now receive a 200CHF fine (about $176).

Residents of the Inner Rhodes area have described the naked tourists as “thoroughly disturbing and irritating,”

Their neighbors in the Appenzell Outer Rhodes Canton are preparing a similar ban which will probably bring an end to the German web sites describing the activity as “a special experience of nature, free and healthy”.

Still, these German naturists could always check out this recently opened hotel in their own country.
