Nothing in the world could be more tear-jerking than an abandoned food cart in NYC. (Sniffles) Don’t you agree? While the owner of the cart may have stepped away for just seconds his absence allowed ohad to capture this beautiful and lonesome cart in front of the glowing red and yellow storefronts. Somehow seeing this shot makes me a little sad. Don’t get me wrong, the beauty found in the design of the Barajas airport in Madrid is without a question, but I can’t help thinking back to my first and only trip to Madrid. Did I fly into a different airport or was I in such a hurry to escape the hordes of tourists looking to tackle the city that I missed such an elegant piece of interior scenery? I feel lost now.
Anyhow, I’m thankful wongoz left this fantastic work of art in our Flickr pool. Nice stuff!
Tourists – Take Photos in Saudi Arabia
Exciting news for the snap-happy tourists that find themselves very down in the dumps when they’re restricted from taking photos in places like museums or of the native people – Saudi Arabia has lifted a ban on photography to help increase tourism. I find it odd that a ban on photography would have that much of an impact on tourism to begin with, but I guess the interior ministry thinks it does. Anyhow, permission is still needed to take photos of private property and locals. You should always ask permission when taking a picture of someone in any place and as a word of advice be careful taking pictures of the Saudi women. They’re still pretty sensitive about that sort of thing.

Today’s photo is a B&W store front shot by Frank Jackson. Judging from the diverse range of food offered on the inside, I’d say this shot was taken in Los Angeles, but I could be wrong. Something about the picture just makes me laugh at how much I’ve never really been a fan of one stop food destinations. Places like China Latina or Buddah’s Amigo are hard sales. It’s got to be either tacos or Chinese food, not both in the same establishment. However, there is one exception to that rule, but that restaurant is in Tampa, FL and they serve both Cuban and Greek food. Check out more of Frank’s work by going here.

With Easter weekend
here the snow begins to thaw a little and even disappear in most places. I’m not sure if such is the case in this
amazing panorama taken by Alby in Urumqi, China, but it was too beautiful to pass up. The red
lanterns look almost as if they are popping off the photo, bursting away from the freezing snow. Everything from
the person in red strolling towards the lifeless brown tree to the temple to the right makes this a stellar photograph.
