Overly touchy couples always bother me. Sure, simple gestures like a kiss on the forehead, holding hands or walking with your arms around each other are acceptable and pretty adorable. But, when the general public has to endure seeing your hand in your girlfriend’s back pocket or some vertical dry humping while standing in the subway, you’ve crossed the line.

I once had to endure the horrible sounds of a couple attempting to eat each other’s faces on a hot air balloon ride. You know where people can go to escape your excessive PDA while in a hot air balloon basket? NOWHERE! It’s a friggin’ hot air balloon! Get your tongues out of each other’s head holes and gawk at the landscape like everyone else, you perverts!

Maybe that’s why I appreciate this sign photographed by Flickr user myeyesareclosed (second day in a row – wow!). Physical contact between couples can escalate quickly. Petting becomes heavy petting. Kisses become French kisses. Grinding becomes bumping and grinding. The last thing any of us need is a couple full on basting the turkey while we’re taking in the scenery.

Seen anyone having sex in public? Don’t add those pictures to the Gadling Flickr group. Instead, add your best travel photos and we might just use one for our next Photo of the Day.

This grainy, black-and-white image of the Toronto City Hall by roxie88 makes Viljo Revell’s triumphant mid-1960s building look downright sultry, even mysterious. It’s easy to imagine well-trained double agents wandering the halls of this building with pilfered files in their briefcases. In real life, it’s more likely that city officials sit in these offices, hiding nothing more than their inappropriate browser histories.

Some of the best travel photos tell a story or capture a stranger in a private moment. This candid portrait of a woman in Tel Aviv, Israel reading in a window by Flavio@Flickr does both beautifully. What is she so absorbed in reading? It could be an alarming news story or a love poem, or she could just be catching up on the latest Lindsay Lohan antics. At any rate, her image tells an interesting story and invites the viewer to contemplate what could be going on inside the window.

If you subscribe to the theories of the spiritual world (whichever spirit you choose) you know there are certain aspects of architecture that are said to transport you to the next phase of your life. In Feng Shui, for example, we’re taught that by hanging ‘forward thinking’ pictures and photos in various rooms, we’ll inspire our future with the power of positive thinking and placement. But what, exactly, is a forward thinking photo?

See today’s Photo of the Day, by t3mujin. Archways are a symbol of new beginnings, new opportunities and new outcomes, and this particular photo has us wondering what’s on the other side of the bend…

Do you have a photo that inspires a forward-thinking movement? Upload your picture to the Gadling Flickr pool and we might choose your snapshot to feature as a Photo of the Day.

Holy mackerel! Er, more like holy scad! This thrilling moment under the sea was captured by Flickr user Ka wai punahele off the coast of Bonaire, an island in the southern chain of the Netherlands Antilles.

The photographer writes; “It’s an amazing experience to have a big shoal of fish come straight towards you and then suddenly change direction and swim around you – quite surreal.” Bonaire is world renowned for its excellent scuba diving and is consistently rated among the best diving locations in the world. Even Bonaire’s license plates carry the logo Diver’s Paradise!

If you have an incredible travel moment to share, upload it to Flickr and include it in our Gadling Flickr Pool; it could be our next Photo of the Day!
