Three all-inclusive vacation packages for summer

The best part of all-inclusive trips is that the thinking is taken out of the equation. Want a second drink? Hell, a second entrée? Go for it! There’s no reason not to … because the bill is already paid. I had my first brush with the all-inclusive concept last summer, and I’m sold on it, especially since I get impatient while waiting for the bill (when the meal’s over, I just want to get on with my life). So, I was pretty excited to see a handful of all-inclusive deals come across my desk or this summer.

So, take a look below at what’s coming at Vail Resorts, Curtain Bluff and Grand Teton National Park in the next few months. You’ll probably find a vacation idea to turn you on and make the coming warmth even better!

1. Vail Resorts Epic Summer Package
Head out to Colorado for this family-oriented package. Everything is covered, from airport pickup to drop-off, with plenty of activities to keep you and the kids busy. You’ll also have access to a guide who can show you the best rivers to raft, trails to hike and so on. At $249 a day for adults, you’ll pick up a savings of more than 38 percent … and you won’t have to cobble together the itinerary yourself.

2. Grand Adventure Package
If you prefer peace and quiet – not to mention being enveloped by nature – check out Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The Grand Adventure Package includes accommodations at Jackson Lake Lodge, a rafting trip on the Snake River and hiking through Grand Teton National Park. You’ll also receive all meals and even more activities, depending on how long your stay is. A four-night package starts at $1,902 for two adults and two kids, with seven nights starting at $3,806.

3. Curtain Bluff in Antigua
Curtain Bluff is an all-inclusive resort, but the deal for the summer can be found in the rate. For a mere $322.50 a night (and up), you can go deep-sea fishing, reef snorkeling or SCUBA diving, among other activities. I’m a big fan of the spa – and the restaurant, skippered by an Alain Ducasse-trained chef.

Renovation brings more hotel options to St. Barths

Do you need a reason to St. Barths? Well, if the destination itself isn’t enough of a reason, check out the latest renovations at the Hotel Christopher. It’s tucked away on Pointe MIlou and new offers two refurbished restaurants (Taino and Mango) and a refreshed lobby and concept store, Linde Gallery. Eleven rooms have been redecorated, and the pool has been transformed completely (it’s also the largest on the island).

The next phase of the renovation comes in May, with three new suites. They will be 880 sqft each – bedroom, living room and large terrace. Also, 10 junior suites and six poolside superior rooms are on the way (to complement the 41 rooms and suites the hotel already has).

“We are extremely excited about the renovations at Hotel Christopher,” says General Manager, Christian Langlade. “Always looking for ways to enhance the overall experience, we wanted to make sure our guests experience Hotel Christopher as a luxurious home in a soothing and unique setting. With each room offering superb sea views, the exceptional dining options at Mango and Taino and the modern Caribbean decor, we feel we’ve set the bar for casual luxury on St. Barths.”

Sizzle in the Bermuda sun this summer

Bermuda isn’t all that far, especially if you’re on the east coast, making it a great destination for long weekends and brief jaunts. Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa is also offering a deal that’ll amp up the temptation for you a bit. The resort‘s “Sizzling Summer” special includes a $600 resort credit when you book a six-night stay, with $500 for five nights and $400 for four. The best part is that you can take advantage of Cambridge’s rather liberal definition of summer, which apparently begins in Bermuda on May 1 and stretches all the way to the end of October.

At $615 a night, Cambridge does appeal to a more upscale crowd, and keep in mind that it’s an adults-only property. To take advantage of this deal, remember to use promotional code CBSO10.

What does your mom prefer this May?

What does the mom in your life prefer? Whether you’re thinking about your wife or your own mom – not to mention anyone who’s given you a motherly nudge throughout your life – consider the gift of travel this may. Build up your summer at the Atlantis LEGO workshops

I wish these existed when I was a kid, and I have to admit, I’m even kicking around going as an adult. The Atlantis is offering three five-day LEGO workshops this July. Kids will get the chance to work with a LEGO Master Builder in hands-on challenges. And, parents can play at the same time. The program is designed to help families spend time together and express their creativity.

The program at the Atlantis includes all activities and LEGO materials, a chance to swim with the resort‘s dolphins, lunch every day for the kids and a variety of other activities, but rooms are separate and require a four-night stay. The three sessions are: July 12 – 16, 2010, July 19 – 23, 2010 and July 26 – 30, 2010. Pricing is $425 per session.
