My, That’s a Big One

This is really cool. Michael
Hawley
, Director of Special Projects and founder of MIT’s GO Expeditions program,
has published the world’s biggest book. Is it a novel? Or a children’s book? Nope. It’s on Bhutan. Called Bhutan,
it is a “visual odyssey” across the kingdom. Teams from MIT and Friendly Planet took over 40,000 photographs on four
expeditions across the country. Traveling by helicopter, hoof and foot across the Bhutanese Himalaya, they took
life-size pictures, some of them larger than life. It is really an epically cool idea, althought their ink costs
must have been huge!!  Speaking of cost, if you have some dough lying around, you can
buy the book for
about ten grand. I repeat 10,000 smackers.
