It looks like in the future, you might not just buy the newest Harry Potter online, you might also book a flight
into space. Jeff Bezos of Amazon and giggle-at-the-segway fame is
funding a company called
Blue Origin. The site says that “Blue Origin is developing vehicles and
technologies that, over time, will help enable an enduring human presence in space”. There is a rumor that
sci-fi/baroque writer Neal Stephenson is an employee. Getting a job there won’t be easy, though. The jobs page
reads: “We are building real hardware — not PowerPoint presentations.” So take that marketing guy!
