Check out this site loaded with really old travel brochures and
other ephemera from all over the world (but with a focus on Europe). The
site is the passion of David Levine, who is obviously quite a fanatic about this stuff. One wonders what his living
room (let alone his attic) looks like. Most of the stuff is from the 1920s and 1930s, and some of the art is often
wonderfully art-deco, totally evocative of the 20s. It’s easy to imagine F Scott Fitzgerald with one of these brochures
tucked beneath his arm.
I clicked through many of the countries and categories found hardly a dud among them. The only thing that sucks is
that there is no way to order print copies, because I saw several posters that I would buy in a heartbeat. But Levine
explicitly says none of the stuff is for sale. Apparently he’s quite a purist. Anyway, this site will be of interest to
collectors of this kind of stuff, and especially Europhile types.
