Sydney Ranked Top

Damn, and I thought this year it would be Bakersfield.

Alas, Sydney, Australia was ranked the number one
city in the world for a record ninth time in the Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards in New York. The magazine
asked its readers to score cities on a variety of criteria, including ambience, friendliness, culture/sights,
restaurants, lodging and shopping. While we at gadling are not advocates of shopping as a traveling activity, we are
all willing to go to Sydney and spend a couple of weeks there to determine whether the rankings are legit. Calls to
Conde Nast have thus far gone unanswered.

Also, in the top: San Francisco, Santa Fe and New York in the US. And Florence, Rome and Venice in Europe (an
Italian hat trick!)
