Flamenco Blues

Slate’s well-traveled section runs
a series by stripper-lit scribe Elisabeth Eaves as she
ventures to flamenco capital Seville, Spain, to learn how to dance. It’s a cool little series that does a nice job
capturing the character of Spain…or at least Seville. Eaves worked for a few years in her 20s as a stripper, um, I mean
exotic dancer, an experience recounted in her book
Bare. The article also provides links to
various flamenco schools should you yourself suddenly develop the urge to make lots of noise with your feet.
