You’ve had the great idea for a documentary film for years now, but just haven’t had the confidence you can make it
happen. It costs to much to make? You don’t have camera skills? Whatever. Well, now’s your chance to get it done.
The Workshops, a well-respected arts school out of Maine is offering
courses on
documentary video production in Oaxaca, Mexico. The course is two weeks long and will take you soup to nuts on the
whole documentary process, including time taken to film the locals for a short documentary that you will do to train
yourself. It does sound cool, although I’d hate to be one of the poor Oaxacans who has to deal with being filmed by all
these trainees. Just imagine a bunch of folks with cameras loitering around your cube or office to film you and your
“daily life”. Anyway, I thought this was a cool course and maybe worth looking at.
