Things are just getting worse in Asia following the tragic tsunamis there. Airlines in the tsunami-pounded regions
of Asia are seeing massive cancellation rates of
as much as 40-plus percent as fliers scramble to alter travel plans after the horrible disasters there. It is, of
course, understandable that people would cancel, but some are saying this is just the beginning of a turn away from the
region as a tourist destination. True or not, it’s hard to say, but it will be a long time before many of these places
– like Koh Phi Phi in Thailand - rebuild, let alone recapture their reputations as exotic, safe tourist
destinations.
