Wow, here’s a feat. Adventurers Richard Meredith-Hardy and Italian Angelo D’Arrigo, decided to fly an ultralight
over Everest. Using a plane to tow the ultralight near the summit, they managed to get it to altitudes that are very,
very unusual for such a vehicle. An amazingly ballsy attempt.
Most thought the air would be too thin and too cold. One Antarctic helicopter pilot veteran called the attempt flat
out “impossible”. But they did it, and you can read about it
here. Turns out
the pair are writing a book about the effort.
