The New York Times today runs a peice on the
changing face of Marrakech, one of Morocco’s most interesting cities. I love Marrakech. The city’s famous casbah
(which I did not rock when I was there, though I was tempted) is a walk back in time. But according to the piece,
Marrakech is changing it’s image a bit, and beginning to offer higher end tourist services like spas and adventure
travel. The good thing about this is that it brings in much-needed money and development and modernization to a Muslim
country that can use it. The bad part is celebs like Sting and Colin Farrell are flocking there…which sucks.
