Running the Distance Across the Globe

Here’s a nice
little read
for those who enjoy marathon running.  A little while back 227 some folks
from 15 countries came together to run like mad in Antarctica.
John
Hanc
who finished in 17th place shares his story with Newsday and answers what would make a person run in such
far-flung places. Why go through the entirely long flight to a far away cold place to run
on slushy slopes? The Last Marathon in Antarctica is a 26.2 mile race on King George Island which
saw participants from all walks of life including the blind and a wheelchair competitor.
