Great story at Wired news about a group of
skydivers and climbers testing wi-fi capabilities while falling to earth or scaling large peaks. In one of the
experiments, four sky divers, each clutching a wireless Nintendo DS handheld gaming device, fell to earth while
playing.
The stunt was coordinated by Los Angeles filmmaker John Hering, who was shooting material for his series of
internet-only videos, From the Shadows. The series focuses on the unexpected
things people do with off-the-shelf products. Hering is producing the show along with some friends and co-workers and
distributing it exclusively through BitTorrent.
