Tell me in what other place can you wrassle a steed, get in a day of fine skiing (say, Vail), and then do some
diving among an assortment of tropical fish? Well, OK, maybe California if you’re willing to drive to kingdom come…but
what landlocked state can you do this in? If you said Montana, you’re wrong. It’s Colorado.
See what I’m talking about in
this
LA Times piece which celebrates Denver’s Ocean Journey, where divers in
the country’s squarest (in the literal sense) state can suit up and plunge into a tank and, as Don Corleone might put
it, swim with the fishes. The only hitch is that if you dive, you have to help clean the aquarium. Not a bad trade off,
really, when the ocean is several thousand miles away.
