Hawaii is a lot more than pineapple fields and poi. The foods found on any of the islands can be
an eclectic fusion between traditional Hawaiian foods and the many Asian cultures presiding
on the islands and for those looking, MSNBC has a piece on
some of the freshest treats on the Big Island. Start with one of many local fav’s at the Hilo waterfront fish
market and taste the sushi and macadamia-nut roll and butterfish misoyaki. Both dishes are reasonably priced to
my understanding. For your exotic tropical fruits breeze through the Hilo Farmer’s market held every Wednesday
and Saturday. Then get your hiney over to the Volcano area for your bottle of Hawaiian Guava Wine.
Delicious!
