Don’t know if your mailbox can afford any more newsletters or cool subscriptions, but I’ve been
getting my daily newsletter from
Verba Volant for over a year now and not once
have I wanted to unsubscribe. As a language lover, I appreciate getting maxims by famous poets, writers, and
philosophers translated into over 60 languages! I like to use it as a learning tool and try to say the quote in
at least two other languages. Seeing them stacked up the way they are also helps to compare
language differences or similarities.
I don’t know if there are any of you out there trying to conquer Hungarian, Flemish, Italian or even Basque, but you
can learn to say today’s quote in each: When virtue has slept, she will get up more refreshed. Thought this
would be a fun one to pass on to all the other global language fanatics out there.
