Indian Budget Airlines

The success of discount airlines like Jetblue and Southwest is inspiring others to get into the act in some places where you might not expect.

Looks like India now has their own version of Jetblue with a new airline called Air Deccan, which offers fares at least 30 percent lower than full-service carriers. This is great news.

Having been in India a year ago, I have to say some flights around the continent were NOT cheap. India continues to impress with its efforts to become an industrialized nation. The continent is massive, as anyone who has traveled there knows, so having a discount airline to help you get from Bombay to, say, Delhi, is a great step foreward.
