Blogging Baby: Travels With Tots

We’re beginning a new feature with our sister site
Bloggingbaby for parents who travel with kids. This week, Sarah Gilbert over
at BB talks about the new craze to make hotels as kid friendly as possible.

Now, I remember years ago when Circus Circus was actually a relatively new hotel in Vegas, it was considered the
creme de la creme in terms of creating distractions for the youngsters while mom and dad went off and gambled away
junior’s college money. But that was then, when putting a balloon animal in front of a kid was considered luxury
treatment. Today, the kids take their video games with them, and the hotels have to resort to even more grandiose
tactics.

As Sarah explains,
today hotels are pulling out all the
stops, dressing up entire rooms for kids, and lavishly decorating them with Nickelodeon-themes and outfitting them with
video game consoles and DVD players. You have to admit, it’s a good idea. This way mom and dad can enjoy a margarita on
the balcony while the kids engage in some serious mano-a-mano Play Station fun.
