We totally dig music festivals. We’ve blogged about a few good ones here and about, and thought we’d take this
opportunity to let you know that one of the best festivals around is coming up. The
Monterey Jazz Festival in beautiful Monterey, CA (fine diving there,
too), runs the weekend of September 16 to 18. It is said the be the longest-running jazz festival in the world, and
this year a few jazz greats will be in attendance
including sax master Branford Marsalis, Pat Metheny, Madeleine Peyroux and Sonny Rollins, all of whom will performing
at some point across seven stages. There’s also a golf tournament on September 15th at the Quail Lodge Golf Club in
Carmel Valley.
If you’re interested, check out the Jazz Festival’s site. Money-wise, here’s the skinny: A $95 weekend pass is valid
for exhibitions, panel discussions and all shows except those in the main arena; a $180 arena package covers
everything. You can also buy a la carte tickets to specific events.
